Blackbeard's anchor raised off U.S. coast

he ship of the infamous pirate Blackbeard -- has been recovered from the waters off the coast of North Carolina.

On Friday, members of the Queen Anne's Revenge Shipwreck Project used lift bags and a crane to pull the anchor out of 20 feet of water and onto the deck of a boat named the Dan Moore.

The North Carolina department of cultural resources was tweeting the event as it happened Friday.

"The anchor has just broken the surface. You can feel the boat slightly leaning towards its 3,000-lb. mass," the tweets said. "After nearly 300 years, Blackbeard's anchor is now aboard the Dan Moore. Horns blare and onlookers cheer. A little crusty, but there is no doubt about it being an anchor."

It's believed the anchor has been on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean since June 1718, when Blackbeard grounded on an ocean bar as he tried to enter an inlet.

Gil Scott-Heron has died

Gil Scott-Heron, who died on May 27 aged 62, was a composer, musician, poet and author whose writings and recordings provided a vivid, and often stinging, commentary on social injustice and the black American experience; his declamatory singing style, allied to the overtly political content of his work, made him widely recognised as one of the inspirational figures of rap music.
Gil Scott-Heron, has died age 62.

Having just returned from Europe, he became ill and passed away on Friday in a NYC hospital.

'Oprah Winfrey Show' Ends After 25 Years latest realty tv show (VIDEO)

Oprah Winfrey walked on stage for her talk show finale Wednesday to a standing ovation from her studio audience before thanking her viewers for watching for a quarter of a century.

She ended her iconic, influential, hugely popular show on a simple, quiet note--a marked contrast to the spectacle of the two-day, celebrity-studded bash at the United Center that preceded the finale.

"There will be no guests, no surprises," she told her audience. "You will not be getting a car, or a tree. This last hour is about me saying thank you. It is my love letter to you." And she did--in a remarkable hour-long monologue that was part sermon, part remembrance, and part inspirational lecture.

Winfrey said she was eternally grateful to her audience.

"Twenty-five years and I'm still saying 'Thank you America,'" she said. "Thank you so much. There are no words to match this moment."

Winfrey told them that sometimes she was a teacher, but more often her viewers taught her. She called the episode her "last class," and talked about the lessons she had learned over the course of the show. She urged her viewers to "be the safe harbor for somebody else, to do for them what you have said the show has done for you." And she called the show "the great love of my life," and said, "I am truly amazed that I, who started out in rural Mississippi in 1954 when the vision for a black girl was limited to being either a maid or a teacher in a segregated school, could end up here."

As the show drew to an end, Winfrey said that its close was "all sweet and no bitter" and addressed her audience for the final time:

"I thank you for tuning in with your mothers and sisters and daughters, your partners--gay and otherwise--your friends, and all the husbands who got coaxed into watching Oprah. And I thank you for being as much of a sweet inspiration to me as I've tried to be for you. I won't say goodbye, I'll just say, until we meet again. To God be the glory."

She hugged and kissed her longtime partner Stedman Graham and shook hands with audience members before walking through the halls of Harpo Studios in Chicago, hugging and crying with her staff. She shouted, "We did it!"

The last shot of the finale showed Winfrey walking away with her cocker spaniel, Sadie.

WATCH:

The show's first moment was a clip of Winfrey's first show. She taped the last episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Tuesday in Chicago.

Winfrey was the only person on stage with little background music and very short flashback clips.

She announced in November 2009 that she would end her popular talk show after 25 years.

Tuesday's taping came a week after Hollywood's A-list and 13,000 fans bid Winfrey farewell during a double-episode extravaganza at Chicago's United Center. The shows that aired Monday and Tuesday included Aretha Franklin, Tom Cruise, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jordan and Madonna, among other stars of television, music and movies. They were just a few of the approximately 30,000 guests on the show over 25 years.

The bare-bones final taping had its share of celebrities in the audience including Tyler Perry, Maria Shriver, Suze Orman and Cicely Tyson, but none of them joined Winfrey on stage.

There were 404 audience members, according to Harpo Productions. The show received 1.4 million ticket requests throughout its final season, the company said.

Oprah will now transition full-time to the Oprah Winfrey Network, the cable channel she created in January.

Sarah Palin Documentary Setting Stage For 2012

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has authorized a feature-length film about her rise, added staff and recently said she has "that fire in the belly" for a presidential bid – all steps that fuel speculation she's inching toward a White House run.

Her supporters are putting together a campaign-in-waiting in Iowa, the lead-off nominating caucus, in the hopes the Republicans' 2008 vice presidential nominee decides to join the race.

There are even reports she bought a home in Arizona, not far from her daughter's, which aides have suggested could be a campaign headquarters if she goes forward.

The Republican governor of Wisconsin signed a bill

The Republican governor of Wisconsin signed a bill on Wednesday that will require voters in the state to show photo identification when they go to the polls.

The measure, which Democrats characterize as a voter suppression effort but Republicans defend as a protection against fraud at the polls, will take partial effect just as nine state senators -- including six of Governor Scott Walker's Republican allies -- face recall challenges in mid-July.

Walker called the law a "common sense reform" that would "go a long way to protecting the integrity of elections in Wisconsin."

The law will requires poll workers to immediately begin asking voters to show state-issued IDs before they vote. But voters won't be required to actually produce the IDs until next year. In the meantime, voters who come to the polls without IDs will be handed a flyer outlining the new requirement.

Ryan budget was used as a Democratic rallying cry in the New York race,

Senate Democrats wasted no time capitalizing on Tuesday's Medicare-fueled upset in a New York special election, holding a vote on the GOP budget plan Wednesday designed to put Republicans on record backing the controversial House budget plan.

The measure failed, 57 to 40, with five Republicans breaking ranks: Sens. Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Rand Paul of Kentucky.

The spending plan, crafted by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), would turn Medicare into a private program and transform Medicaid into a state block-grant system.

The Ryan budget was used as a Democratic rallying cry in the New York race, which saw Kathy Hochul triumph in the heavily Republican district.

Just before the vote Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) took to the floor to portray the GOP budget in stark terms.

"The Republican plan to kill Medicare is a plan to make the rich richer and the sick sicker," Reid said. His speech repeatedly used the phrase, "Republican plan to kill Medicare."

Ed Schultz will take one week of unpaid leave from MSNBC

Ed Schultz will take one week of unpaid leave from MSNBC following his controversial comments about Laura Ingraham.
On his radio show Tuesday, Schultz called Ingraham a "right-wing slut."
Wednesday evening, the network released the following statement about the matter, saying "remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated":
MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program. Ed will address these remarks on his show tonight, and immediately following begin his leave. Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Kim Kardashian vs John Edwards; How much trouble

Kim Kardashian has gotten engaged. Her boyfriend, Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets, surprised the reality star by popping the question last week; Kardashian came home and found Humphries in her bedroom, where he had spelled the words “Will you marry me?” in rose petals. Naturally, a surprise family celebration — featuring a pair of mini-horses covered in glitch.

John Edwards, former presidential candidate allegedly used campaign funds to hide an affair and an illegitimate child. Will politicians ever learn: It's not the crime but the coverup that can land you in jail?

Profile of Coaching Candidate replace Phil Jackson with Mike Brown

Third post in a series of posts focusing on the Lakers' coaching candidates to replace Phil Jackson.

Brown led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2007 NBA Finals and two Eastern Conference Finals appearances through his five seasons where he compiled a 272-138 record and won NBA Coach of the Year honors in 2009. Despite leading the Cavaliers to a league-best 66-16 regular season record in the 2008-2009 season, Cleveland fell to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals. Brown followed up with a league-best 61-21 season, but that only translated into more playoff turmoil where Cleveland fell to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. Brown was then fired after the season before becoming an ESPN NBA analyst. He also held assistant coach stints with the Washington Wizards (1997-99), San Antonio Spurs (2000-2003) and Indiana Pacers (2003-2005).

Brown certainly fits that bill, with his Cavalier teams among the best defensive units in the league and Lakers forward Ron Artest winning the 2003-04 defensive player of the year award under Brown's defensive system in Indiana. Considering the Lakers battled defensive inconsistency during the 2011 playoffs, they could use the help. Their 17-1 start after the All-Star break largely pointed to the Lakers' new defensive scheme that stressed funneling drivers into the lane so the team's frontline could close in at them on the basket. But once the playoffs hit, the Lakers fell behind on rotations as they struggled defending New Orleans and Dallas. Brown would surely fix that, showing a strong ability in getting the best out of a team that lacked much talent outside of LeBron James and continuing to convince Andrew Bynum to thrive in a defensive role. As Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry said about Brown after Cleveland parted with him, "Mike established a work ethic, defensive identity and culture of winning that was not here previously," Ferry said.

As accomplished as Brown proved to be on the defensive end, his offensive sets with Cleveland lacked much of an identity. Considering the Lakers frequently deviated from the triangle offense last season and appeared entirely disorganized, this weakness will only expose the Lakers even more. They certainly have the talent to be an offensively efficient team with Bryant's skillset as well as the team's frontline presence with Bynum, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom. But with the Lakers' poor outside shooting, Bryant's occasional trigger-happy tendencies and the team's inconsistency in properly using its size advantage, lacking a strong offensive identity won't allow the Lakers to fully take advantage of their offensive assets.

Tea Party group is to stop Mitt Romney from winning the Republican nomination

A top goal of the nation’s most influential national Tea Party group is to stop Mitt Romney from winning the Republican nomination for president.

Interviews with top officials at FreedomWorks, a Washington-based organizing hub for Tea Party activists around the country, revealed that much of their thinking about the 2012 election revolves around derailing the former Massachusetts governor.

“Romney has a record and we don’t really like it that much,” said Adam Brandon, the group’s communications director.

FreedomWorks is led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-Texas) and Matt Kibbe, an economist and former Capitol Hill aide. More than 30 employees, as well as a fresh class of several interns, work out of spacious seventh floor offices near the U.S. Capitol. The group knows they cannot impose their will on the fiercely independent conservative organizers fueling the Tea Party

Queen Elizabeth orgnized state dinner honoring Barack and Michelle Obama

Queen Elizabeth II has used her speech at a state dinner honoring Barack and Michelle Obama to celebrate common bonds between the United States and Britain that she says go beyond military and diplomatic ties.

The queen opened the lavish state dinner at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday by recalling fond memories of her earlier meetings with the Obamas. And she said that the U.S. and Britain in most cases see world problems in the same light.

The queen said the U.S.-U.K relationship is – in her words – "tried, tested and, yes, special."

Domino, the

Domino, the social media specialists,, have successfully partnered with Marmite and integrated agency Big Wednesday to ensure this iconic brand remains in touch and engaged with South African consumers.
Marmite is a great brand to leverage off Facebook because it not only gives the brand a forum to engage, reward and excite local consumers with entertaining content, it also provides a way to intensify the relationship between Marmite and its target market," says Alice Jakins, social media strategist at Domino.

The key to the success of Marmite's fan page, according to Jakins, is great content. "The News Feed (or Wall) is the Holy Grail for brands; it is where a brand delivers key messaging, engages, entertains and informs their fans'. She emphasizes though that the starting point for hard working, optimized content is to have a content strategy in place before initiating any communication on any social media platform, 'A content strategy ensures that all communication is in line with the brand tone and serves the purpose of organising and maintaining the flow of all posts."

White House Beefs Up Online Rapid Response

The Obama administration has created and staffed a new position tucked inside their communications shop for helping coordinate rapid response to unfavorable stories and fostering and improving relations with the progressive online community.

"This week, Jesse Lee will move from the new media department into a role in the communications department as Director of Progressive Media & Online Response," read an internal memo from Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, provided to The Huffington Post. "For the last two years, Jesse has often worn two hats working in new media and serving as the White House's liaison with the progressive media and online community. Starting this week, Jesse will take on the second role full time working on outreach, strategy and response."

The post is a new one for this White House. Rapid response has been the purview of the Democratic National Committee (and will continue to be). Lee's hire, however, suggests that a portion of it will now be handled from within the administration. It also signals that the White House will be adopting a more aggressive engagement in the online world in the months ahead.

Dylan admits drug habit, contemplated suicide

A previously unheard interview with Bob Dylan revealed that he had been addicted to heroin in the early 1960s and contemplated suicide after people started calling him a genius.

Excerpts from the tape, in which the 'Blowing in the Wind' singer gives an interview to his friend Robert Shelton on board a private plane in Lincoln, Nebraska bound for Denver after a concert late one night in March 1966, was published by the BBC news service.

Shelton describes the interview, in which Dylan admits he had been addicted to heroin in the early 1960s, as a "kaleidoscopic monologue". Dylan turned 70 on Tuesday.
I kicked a heroin habit in New York City. I got very, very strung out for a while, I mean really, very strung out. And I kicked the habit. I had about a $ 25-a-day habit and I kicked it," BBC quoted Dylan as saying.

There have been rumours that Dylan was involved with heroin but this may be the only time the singer admitted to the habit.

Former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty released a web video on Sunday previewing his plans to kick off a campaign for president of the United States.

The Republican hopeful is expected to officially declare his candidacy at a town hall in the key early primary state of Iowa on Monday.

"We need a president who understands that our problems are deep, and has the courage to face them. President Obama does not. I do," Pawlenty says in a note accompanying the clip. "Announcing my presidential campaign at a town hall in Iowa, I will begin a campaign that tells the American people the truth. Together, we will change this country, and this time it'll be for the better."

News of Pawlenty's decision to enter the race for the Republican presidential nomination should come as no surprise. The former governor launched a presidential exploratory committee earlier this year and has made no attempt to hide his political ambitions.

Full adult Boobs Canucks Fan Boobs Flashes In The Penalty Box (Video)

At the ending of game 2 between Sharks and Canucks in Vancouver, a blonde woman with pierced nipples and I guess not much else going for her decided to go boobs-to-box and flash San Jose’s Ben Eager during a penalty. Not only is this the kind of amazing happenstance that will be reported on every single website today (including Cute Overload, Post Secret and Is It Christmas), but flashing a guy named “Ben Eager” gives me the most indoor Nerf-hooped pun of all time. That’s like whipping out your junk in front of a lady named Fanny Johnson.

Check out the censored, relatively safe for work version of the video here, because your work hates nipples, but doesn’t mind the entire rest of the boob. The video is brought to you by The Score, and I bet you couldn’t tell after seeing THE SCORE written all over the place and plastered on the lady like they gave birth to her. This is the best thing to happen to the Canucks since that two years where we all loved Pavel Bure.

P.S. If you want to see the video without the breasts blurred out, it isn’t rocket science. Search “Eager” on YouTube and then sort the results by upload date. I did it, and if you like breasts you will want to do the same. Trust me.

NBA 2011 Draft : Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams at the Top

Tuesday night by big winning the first selection in the 2011 NBA draft and really, who deserved it more than Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams.

1. Cleveland Cavaliers (via Los Angeles Clippers): Kyrie Irving, PG, Duke

The L.A. Clippers wanted to get rid of their point guard Baron Davis, and needed to add in their first-round pick to make him disappear. Little did they know they'd be throwing away Kyrie Irving, too. Cleveland will take Irving with glee; while the point guard won't make anyone forget about LeBron James, he fills an immediate need at a vital position and injects a dose of excitement to a bad roster.

2. Minnesota Timberwolves: Derrick Williams, F, Arizona

The Wolves would have been in a nearly impossible position with the No. 1 pick, given the team's continued lust for Ricky Rubio. There's a small issue here, too: Michael Beasley is the incumbent small forward, and All-Star power forward Kevin Love isn't going anywhere. Williams could serve as the third forward, or Minnesota could offload Beasley. Or David Kahn could take a point guard, like Kemba Walker.

3. Utah Jazz (via New Jersey Nets): Enes Kanter, C, Turkey

Kanter might not be the perfect center to match with Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap, but the Jazz had stayed with the "best player available" strategy in the past, and depending on who you read, Kanter could be it. Whoever picks him will be relying mostly on the workout season and combine measurements as he hasn't played competitive basketball in a couple years. He's perhaps the biggest question mark on the board in the top 10.

4. Cleveland Cavaliers: Jonas Valanciunas, C, Lithuania

After landing a franchise point guard in Irving up top, the Cavaliers can further bolster the backcourt by choosing Kemba Walker here or go big. Given that Walker has been fashioned an NBA point guard -- we'll see -- I'll guess big man here. Valanciunas isn't close to a finished product, but Cleveland is in full-on rebuild mode. (They'd probably prefer Kanter, should he drop.)

5. Toronto Raptors: Kemba Walker, PG, UConn

Walker is the second- or third-best perimeter player in the draft behind Irving and possibly Brandon Knight; while Toronto needs a true point guard to get that offense going, it's hard to pass up NBA-ready leadership that a player like Walker offers. The Raptors love shooting seemingly above all else, but Walker's dribble-creation will help boost the team in the short term while the rest of the roster is sorted out.

6. Washington Wizards: Bismack Biyombo, PF, Congo

The Wizards have their shotblocking interior presence (JaVale McGee), but Biyombo, the top shotblocker in the Spanish league per DraftExpress, is another level of prospect. Given the franchise's lack of faith (or is that wishful thinking?) in Andray Blatche, power forward could be a spot they look to address despite a gaping hole behind Rashard Lewis at small forward and a couple of solid PF prospects in the pipeline (Trevor Booker, Kevin Seraphin).

7. Sacramento Kings: Kawhi Leonard, SF, San Diego State

The Kings desperately need help at small forward, where none of Francisco Garcia, Donte Greene or Omri Casspi stood out (for good reasons) in 2010-11. Leonard is a big SF, and less of a shooter than the Kings would like, but the team is being rebuilt with an eye on energy and toughness. He fits that.

8. Detroit Pistons: Brandon Knight, PG, Kentucky

The Pistons have an unsettled backcourt; Knight may not be the answer next year or ever, but outside of the top two this whole draft is a carp shoot. (If you've ever shot an arrow at a fish, you know what I'm talking about.) Knight has landed higher on other mocks, and a good workout season could boost him even ahead of Walker.

9. Charlotte Bobcats: Marcus Morris, PF, Kansas

How many times will the Morris twins get compared to the Collins twins? More than the number of times they'll get compared to the Lopez twins! That's a small joke about how players are only ever compared to players of their race. You know, like how Jimmer Fredette is the next J.J. Redick but not the next Bobby Jackson. (Note: he's probably closer to Redick than Jackson.)

10. Milwaukee Bucks: Alec Burks, SG, Colorado

Burks isn't a great shooter, but he's a fine scorer and could be a great long-term fit with Brandon Jennings. John Salmons didn't get the job done last season, and is in his early 30s. Milwaukee might instead go big in an attempt to settle the frontcourt alongside Andrew Bogut. It's a wide open draft for the Bucks. Also: Bucks. Burks. Bucks. Burks. Canny like X-Men.

11. Golden State Warriors: Kenneth Faried, PF/C, Morehead State

The Warriors need more defense, despite taking Ekpe Udoh last year. You ask for defense, you get rebounding and defense. Note: if Faried begins to go by "Ken" or "Kenny," I'm dropping him to the second round.

12. Utah Jazz: Jimmer Fredette, SG, BYU

You can pry my Jazz-taking-Jimmer prediction from my cold, dead hands.

13. Phoenix Suns: Tristan Thompson, PF, Texas

Thompson is No. 6 on Jay Bilas' big board; power forwards with potential always rise, and Thompson is a top candidate to get up in the top 10. But if he's around, and assuming more talented big men aren't too tempting, it'd be hard for the thin Suns to pass him up.

14. Houston Rockets: Chris Singleton, SF, Florida State

The defensive specialist could be Daryl Morey's next Shane Battier; Singleton is a smart, rangy defender with some toughness and a developing (if slowly) offensive game.

15. Indiana Pacers: Donatas Motiejunas, C, Lithuania

Motiejunas won't likely fall this far, not with a certain 7-foot European gunner lighting up the NBA Playoffs. The Pacers need help on offense, and a stretch big man could be a nice addition to the Roy Hibbert-Tyler Hansbrough tandem.

16. Philadelphia 76ers: Jan Vesely, SF, Czech Republic

Another player who should be higher. I guess I'm biased against Euros! Vesely is reportedly more of a gazelle, and Omri Casspi-type transition star with little in the way of halfcourt refinement. That sounds exactly like the Philadelphia 76ers.

17. New York Knicks: Markieff Morris, PF, Kansas

Q: Which player will draw the most obnoxious catcalls from the Knicks' faithful inside of MSG for the draft? A: Some Euro, duh. But Morris The Lesser will do.

18. Washington Wizards (from Atlanta Hawks): Klay Thompson, SG, Washington State

Thompson's an interesting draft case; he's a perimeter-based scoring who might struggle to adjust to a lower-usage role in the NBA, but who has the skills to excel if he can find the right niche. I'm not sure Washington is that place, but the teens are the assumed range for him.

19. Charlotte Bobcats (from New Orleans Hornets): Tyler Honeycutt, SF, UCLA

The Bobcats are restocking from almost scratch after selling off Gerald Wallace at midseason. Honeycutt has promise, but he'll need to prove his value in competitive workouts. Can he handle himself against stronger, more developed prospects like Leonard and Singleton?

20. Minnesota Timberwolves (from Memphis Grizzlies): Jordan Hamilton, SF, Texas

This selection is made with a big ol' wink to my friend David Kahn. You think the draft lottery being fixed is a problem? Wait until Hamilton is shooting from midcourt five times a game.

21. Portland Trail Blazers: Davis Bertans, SF, Latvia

I'm not gonna lie: everything I know about Davis Bertans, I learned from this highlight reel. Needless to say, I do not know much about Davis Bertans.

22. Denver Nuggets: Josh Selby, SG, Kansas

If J.R. Smith really leaves the Nuggets, George Karl is going to miss having a "difficult" two-guard gunner. Enter Selby.

23. Houston Rockets (from Orlando Magic): Tobias Harris, SF, Tennessee

Ideally, the Rockets trade all of their draft picks for a time machine to 2004, they wrap Yao Ming's feet in bubble wrap, they get back in the time machine, and they let Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin play off the big fellow on their way to 47 wins.

24. Oklahoma City Thunder: Lucas Nogueira, C, Brazil

"Bebe" is the latest South American wonder to grace my dreams and nightmares. He looks like Mikki Moore but supposedly plays like countryman Nene. Also, his nickname is Bebe! What more do you want?

25. Boston Celtics: JaJuan Johnson, PF/C, Purdue

The Celtics obviously need help in the middle; Nenad Krstic is not the answer, Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq may both retire, and Glen Davis was shown up in the playoffs. Johnson is more a blue chip handyman than a heralded prospect, but he could be a nice fit.

26. Dallas Mavericks: David Lighty, SF, Ohio State

The Mavericks love shooters and need help on the wings. Lighty looks poised to make a smooth transition to the pros, based on his universally needed skill set.

27. New Jersey Nets (from Los Angeles Lakers): Jeremy Tyler, C, Newspaper Articles From Two Years Ago

I just needed to get Jeremy Tyler into the first round of one mock draft to settle a bet from 2008. Move along.

28. Chicago Bulls (from Miami Heat): Kyle Singler, SF, Duke

Kyle Singler is the Taj Gibson of private schools in the ACC.

29. San Antonio Spurs: Andrew Goudelock, PG, College of Charleston

I'm not going to lie: I found the most obscure domestic name in DraftExpress' two-round mock, and picked it.

30. Chicago Bulls: Isaiah Thomas, PG, Washington

Isaiah Thomas deserves a shot in the first round; he can outplay a handful of NBA point guards, and a year from now he could seriously be putting in good minutes for a playoff team. He has all the skills. Size matters, but haven't we learned you can't discount a player solely because of their height?

Real Housewives of New Jersey Danielle Staub is back

Season 3 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey started on Monday night – with an epic brawl at Teresa Giudice's nephew's christening. there are two new Housewives – both related to Giudice – in the mix now that the show's villain, Danielle Staub, is gone.

While Giudice is certainly a drama magnet, Staub, in an interview said that recently predicted that ratings would suffer in her absence. This season will be just full out nasty family fighting. Everyone's got that. Where's the element of surprise there?"

Real Housewives season the series added Melissa Gorga to the cast. Now, Gorga just happens to be the sister-in-law of Teresa Giudice, which also means the addition of Teresa's brother, Joe.

More family means more family drama, and they wasted no time with it. Teresa and Melissa don't get along at all, and she's thus estranged from her brother as well. So, why not get them together at a banquet for the Christening of Melissa and Joe's son?

Her brother Joe rebuffs her when she comes over to offer congratulations, telling her to "do what you do everyday. Just walk the f*** away." Later, he calls her "garbage."

All the abuse doesn't fall on deaf ears, as Teresa's husband Joe 'yes', they're both named Joe -- finally reaches his breaking point and lunges toward brother Joe. Cue epic brawl and fisticuffs.

It looks like the addition of more of Teresa's relatives is just the blend of unstable relations the show was probably looking for. Are you looking forward to a season of family chaos?

Live TV Video at Daily Show of Bill O'Reilly vs Jon Stewart

Bill O'Reilly challenged "Daily Show" host to a debate on the recent controversy surrounding rapper Common's invitation to join the White House poetry slam. Last night, Stewart took him up on the offer and sat for a lengthy and mostly civilized discussion of the issue.

O'Reilly insisted that Common should be disqualified from visiting the White House because he once wrote a song about Assata Shakur, a member of the Black Liberation Army who was convicted in the killing of a New Jersey police officer in the 1970s. Only artists who are truly "unimpeachable" should be bestowed with the honor of a White House invitation, which may be considered by some a rather high bar.

Stewart, meanwhile, insisted that the Fox News "selective outrage machine" had manufactured a fake controversy. O'Reilly and his cohorts had failed to make a crucial distinction: Just because Common believes that Shakur was unjustly convicted does not mean that he approves of killing police officers. More to the point, Common is not the first artist to have written a song about a convicted criminal to receive a White House invitation.

"You may think he's ignorant for believing that Assata Shakur is innocent, for believing that Mumia is," Stewart said. "But then guess what? Bono can't go to the White House, Springsteen can't go to the White House, Bob Dylan can't go to the White House. You've got a lot of people that can't sit in the White House because they've written songs about people convicted of murder."
